3 Great Vacation Ideas for 2020

Are you wondering where you should go this year on vacation, but want to do something unique? Maybe you are tired of just going to the beach or a new city and want to do something that a lot of people aren’t doing.

There are a million places to visit in this world and many different alternative activities to participate in. We have put together fun destinations to visit on your time off in 2020 that are affordable and Instagram worthy!

Go to a Festival or Rave

Listening to live music is something all of us love. The experience of a festival or rave is quite a memorable one. You can camp close to the venue and try a variety of new things. You’ll also meet a bunch of people, do some grilling, and catch some rays.

Festivals and raves are located all over the country, with the biggest festivals being Coachella and Lollapalooza, and the biggest raves are Electric Forest and Beyond Wonderland in the United States. There are also smaller festivals that are less expensive. Look to see where your favorite musicians are playing in 2020 and buy a ticket!

When it comes to festivals or raves, having a killer outfit is a must, and it makes the experience better! Bright colored shirts, fanny packs, and a lot of glitter are essentials! You and your friends can have fun before hand picking out the outfits and then take amazing photos while you’re there.

Hike to Machu Picchu

If music festivals aren’t your thing, and maybe you want to be in nature and get away from it all for a little bit, hiking to Machu Picchu is a fantastic trip! This New Wonder of the World is on many people’s bucket list, so why not do it in 2020!

To get there, you must first go to the beautiful city of Cusco, which is filled with impressive Incan ruins on every corner and large Spanish cathedrals. From Cusco, there are many ways to get to the Lost City of the Incas, but hiking there is the best way!

If you’re lucky enough to get a permit, you can do a four-day hike on the original Inca Trail, which is an incredible experience. If you are looking to be in the snowy mountains of the Andes and experience one of the hardest hikes to Machu Picchu, the five day Salkantay Trek is a great way to go!

If you are looking to do some hiking, but also have a lot of fun, the Inca Jungle Trek takes you through the high jungle with downhill biking, rafting, ziplining, and rock climbing all in a four-day trek that takes you to Machu Picchu! There are trains to bring to this New Wonder of the World if you don’t like hiking.

However you get to Machu Picchu, you will not regret it and have the time of your life!

We all like taking vacations to relax, but it is always rewarding to give back to a community when you are traveling. There are places all over the world that willingly take any help you can offer!

You can volunteer in an all-girls school in Africa, do jungle conservation in South America, or maybe teach English in Asia. There are so many different options you can do!

Find a project that you feel passionate about and also a place you are interested in visiting. You can make the trip about volunteering during the week and then doing touristy things on the weekends!

Many programs let you stay with a local family while volunteering. You will get a unique experience traveling this way because you will see how citizens of that country live.

The Bottom Line

2020 should be the year to take on new adventures and travel outside of the box. These are just a few ideas we thought of, but there are so many alternative trips you can take this year. There is nothing wrong with going to an all-inclusive resort for some years, but why not make a memory that is so much more unique than that!
